News: Caught Out! Advertising watchdog bans KP Snacks junk food ads for England & Wales Cricket Board
Two adverts for the family friendly cricket tournament The Hundred which were sponsored by KP Snacks have been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority, who ruled that they breached rules protecting children from exposure to unhealthy food and drink marketing.

From October, local authorities will be encouraged to submit proposals for a new Trailblazer programme to tackle childhood obesity, in a partnership between the Department of Health and the Local Government Association. Children's Food Campaign welcomes the initiative, but says it will need to be scaled up for systemic change.

News: Government must hold firm on actions to tackle childhood obesity, says Children’s Food Campaign
The Children’s Food Campaign calls on Government to keep pressing ahead with proposals and consultations in response to an industry letter signed by 30 trade associations asking the Government to delay. This includes consultations announced in its Childhood Obesity Plan, including further restrictions on promotions and advertising of sugary foods.

News: The sale of sugary drinks will be banned from YMCAs in Victoria as part of a new healthy food and beverage policy
An estimated 350,000 cans of soft drink are sold through its recreation centres each year. The Healthy Food and Beverage Policy will be implemented over three years in over 150 locations including community recreation centres, residential camps, youth services, disability services and children services.
